Who We Are

In 1993, a major news outlet released an expose that revealed the atrocities taking place in Romanian orphanages.  One of the Communist regime's best kept secrets, this revelation was shocking not only to the world, but also to Romanians within the country's borders.  As Romanian Americans and former refugees of this very government, this struck a chord with our family.  We began sending packages of supplies, clothing, and other necessities, which became a labor of love that has now spanned close to three decades. 

Through this grassroots effort, several informal partnerships were formed in Romania.  Based in the suburbs of Chicago, we needed trusted partners to help us distribute supplies on the ground overseas.  When Ukraine was invaded in February 2022, one of these partners, Asociata MGM, became one of the first outreach organizations at Romania's largest border with Ukraine.  Mobilizing a 24/7 operation, MGM immediately met terrified refugees with hot food, supplies, and love.  Their ongoing presence and swirly black & blue logo were captured across multiple European and U.S. news outlets. 

Seeing and hearing firsthand the incredible work they were doing, we recognized the immediate need to come alongside MGM and provide U.S. based support.  The Logos 114 Project was birthed from here and a partnership with Asociatia MGM was established.   We couple resources and love from the United States and take them across the Atlantic, where they are thoughtfully delivered.  

MGM is a nonprofit organization based in Dumbraveni, Romania.  MGM translated means "Ministering to Tomorrow's Generation."  Their motto "with love, for people," is what drives their team of 200+ to do incredible work in areas of great need.  

Over the past nine years, MGM has assisted thousands of families and counting by providing sustainable support.  Food, in example, might mean investing in a cow for a family, that will bring years of nutrition.  home supplies and 200 tons of winter heating fuel.  Homes are built for the needy and thousands of children are gifted with school supplies.  Moreover, their outreach extends to kids outreach camps, education programs, and much more.   

Their mission is our mission.  We are aligned to financially and materially support and expand the work they are doing on the ground.  Leveraging sustainable means and wrapping every effort in loving care for greatest impact, we believe in the value of working together.
